Come sign up for “Rendez-vous aux Jardins” 7-9 June 2019, a garden event organised across Europe.

Rendez-vous aux Jardins is a festival to help people across Europe discover or rediscover more than 3 000 parks and private and public gardens over a weekend in June. Open to garden owners and managers, Parks Departments and all responsible for gardens in Ireland

Special events and demonstrations offer a chance to explore our garden heritage, to appreciate the skills and knowhow of gardeners, landscape designers and parks managers.

The French Ministry of Culture is proposing a theme for 2019:

“Animals in the garden”
Animals may be harmful for some gardeners: Boxwood borer, aphid, Colorado potato beetle, slug, rodents, deer, etc. But animals can also help maintain gardens: ladybirds, earthworm, pollinators, hedgehog, sheep, draft horse, etc.The animal is an indispensable component of zoological gardens; It can also be an ornamental element like the peacock, or in garden statues.

What is involved:
• Register your event and garden on the Website : https://openagenda.com/rdvj-2019-europe (“add an event”)
• Host a special event or demonstration on the theme:
e.g. Consider linking to an action in a pollinator plan, Surveys of the animals, birds and insects living in your garden,
Art activities themed on animals in the garden

The co-ordinators will send you posters and will promote your event and garden through social media, across Europe.

In Ireland the Heritage Council will promote your event through its social media
