EirGrid Update: East Meath North Dublin Grid Upgrade

The East Meath-North Dublin Grid Uprade is a new 400kv underground electricity cable proposed between Woodland Substation, near Batterstown in Co. Meath, to Belcamp substation near Clonshaugh in North Dublin. This upgrade will strengthen the electricity grid in the east of Meath and the north of Dublin to improve the transfer of power across the existing transmission network.

Please note that the planning application for the East Meath North Dublin Grid Upgrade project will be submitted to An Bord Pleanála tomorrow, Thursday 28th March 2024.

The start of the consultation period has been identified as 5th April and will run until 23rd May at 5pm. The dedicated East Meath North Dublin Grid Upgrade SID website is  www.eirgrideastmeathnorthdublin.ie

Paper copies of the planning application will also be available for review at both Meath County Council offices and Fingal County Council offices.

Submissions must be made directly to ABP and not to EirGrid, either by post or hand delivered to 64 Marlborough Street, Dublin, D01 V902, or online via an ABP submission portal at https://online.pleanala.ie/en-ie/sid/observation. The making of a submission will cost €50.
