This two-day event will explore how support and solidarity intersect with and inform the development of critical relationships in socially engaged, collaborative arts practice. We are delighted to host the event this year in Tuam, home of the Creative Places pilot. Come with us to explore the town, seeing our core preoccupations of support and solidarity in action.
During this two day event, our invited speakers will propose a series of methodologies that can be used in order to build networks of support and solidarity for and between collaborative, socially engaged practitioners and communities.

Create is delighted to present Rehearsing Hospitality: Accessing Abundance during Institutional Breakdown, a 3-session online workshop with artist Dawn Weleski on 27 October (Thursday), 1 November (Tuesday) and 3 November (Thursday) 2022.
How can artists facilitate nimble project expansion and contraction; activate both entrances and also exits for collaborators and participants; and adapt in sustainability of practice without compromising artistic integrity and project autonomy – all while avoiding institutional capture?
The series will address the politics of transitioning into more collective and durational forms of practice, as well as the complex negotiations required within the engine of collaboration and between external stakeholders and resource-holders as creatives and changemakers navigate the competing demands of their intersecting economies and communities.

2022 AIC Scheme Bursary: Collaborative Arts and Dance

Create is pleased to partner with Dance Ireland to offer the 2022 AIC Scheme bursary award on Collaborative Arts and Dance. This bursary is designed to support individual professional artists whose practice centres on collaboration with individuals or groups (non-arts professionals).
The AIC Scheme Bursary Award 2022: Collaborative Arts and Dance specifically aims to support an individual professional artist working in collaborative socially engaged arts practice. The purpose of the award is to support and nurture professional arts practice; it is aimed at a dance artist with a track record of working collaboratively with communities of place or interest. The bursary of €10,000 provides the selected artist with time and resources to carry out research and to engage with and reflect on their practice. More particularly, it allows the artist to consider key questions associated with their dance practice using collaborative methodologies.

AN TIONSCADAL DROMCHLA EXHIBITION 00 offers the first public view into Lydia’s long term story-telling and world-building project. Consisting of 5 short stories and a gallery show, the collection explores relinquishing your physical self and achieving transcendence, the sabotage of a research experiment, the intimacy of transition, what we leave behind on monolithic server racks and the disappearance of a suburb.
Lydia MacBride is a self-taught digital artist and musician working across multiple mediums including graphic design, 3D modelling, illustration and web design. Lydia utilizes these mediums in her storytelling to explore themes of anti-colonialism, anti-capitalism, Irish language and folklore and magic. Lydia is the recipient of We Only Want the Earth 2022, Residency Award One.

Zero Together are inviting you to send a message from the future in the form of a postcard. They are embarking on an ambitious project to capture a vision of Dublin in 2050 created by the people of Dublin. The goal of this campaign is to curate and share positive and inspiring visions of what success might look like and invite the people of Dublin to imagine their future in a city and region free from fossil fuels.
Zero Together, led by Codema, Dublin’s Energy Agency, is a unique initiative that is bringing together diverse perspectives and experience from businesses, communities, transport groups, academia and local authorities to work towards the same goal of moving Dublin away from fossil fuels as soon as possible; with the ultimate aim of developing the county into a clean and healthy region to live, work, study and visit.
