Development Perspectives are hosting a webinar entitled ‘Minding the “I” in Activism’. Join for a look at peacebuilding from within for more inclusive, tolerant and sustainable communities. Amnesty International are hosting two webinars as part of their Write for Rights 2021 featuring the cases of young people, Rung, a student activist in Thailand and Mikita, a young person detained without a fair trial in Belarus. There will be time to ask questions, learn about how to take action on these and other cases, and how to bring these action ideas to schools and communities. These webinars are aimed at young people and educators in secondary schools and 3rd level colleges. First webinar takes place on Monday 22^nd of November from 12.05 to 12.55 pm and the second takes place on Tuesday 30^th of November from 1.05 pm to 1.55 pm. Comhlámh launched a new campaign ‘Put Children First: End Orphanage Volunteering’ on November 10^th. Children belong in families and communities, yet of an estimated 5.4 million children living in institutions worldwide, more than 80% have at least one living parent. Poverty, discrimination, lack of access to education and health services are key drivers of family separation. Orphanage volunteering and tourism are also important contributing factors. Therefore, the campaign asks that people pledge not to volunteer or visit in an orphanage because of the harm caused to children by these practices. The European Commission’s European Website on Integration (EWSI) has relaunched with a brand new website. With a better look and feel as well as intuitive navigation across devices, the EWSI has been redesigned with the needs of readers in mind. As a result, content staples such as the country pages content staples such as the country pages summarising migrant integration governance in each of the EU countries have been updated.In the next few months, EWSI will also launch an interactive online tool allowing you to explore the progress made on EU action plan on integration and inclusion (2021-2027). A new special EU-wide analysis on the digitalisation of integration services in light of COVID-19 is also on its way. The Department of Justice has issued guidance for migrants wishing to travel for the holidays but whose Irish Residence Permit (IRP) cards have expired or will expire and the holder hasn’t been able to renew it yet. Migrants with expired IRP cards can travel and return to the country with the expired IRP card up until 15 January 2022. If you are staying outside Ireland for longer than 15 January 2022, you are advised to renew your IRP card before you travel if possible. If you have been unable to renew before you travel, intend to stay abroad beyond 15 January 2022 and you come from a visa-required country, you will have to apply for a visa to re-enter Ireland at your destination using the AVATS online system. Migrants travelling under these conditions are advised to print the Department of Justice’s guidance on this matter and bring the print-out with them when re-entering the country.
