Mental Health and Family Caring; Supporting the Supporter

  • Two sessions: Morning 10am  and Evening 7pm
  • Numbers limited
  • Start Date: 6th of September  

 

AIM: 

This workshop will support families in building skills to look after their own wellbeing whilst caring for a person living with a mental health challenge.

 

OBJECTIVES: 

By the end of this workshop Family Carers will have:

 

  • Had time to reflect on and build tools and techniques to enhance their self-care
  • Expanded their understanding of the concepts of mental health, mental illness and recovery
  • Increased awareness around their boundaries with regard to personal wellbeing and the caring role
  • Had an opportunity to learn about and practice communication skills and active listening techniques
  • Learned about supports and services available for those who are caring

Meet with guest speakers and facilitators

Discuss key areas relating to mental health and family caring
