Updates from ALONE

• Attached you will find ALONE’s Progress Report from July 6^th to 12^th along with infographic. Housing is now the highest area of need amongst callers with follow-up from ALONE staff for support with housing Transfers/ Housing applications to Local Authorities, support to prevent homelessness and support with decluttering and home repairs & maintenance.

• Dawn Chorus – we have two groups of older people attending a singalong session via a teleconference call weekly. Small numbers attend, but really enjoy it. A few were brave enough to sing on their own this week. Both project facilitators are now also facilitating individuals within the group to lead the sessions as there was interest to do this- which bodes well for the sustainability of the project.

Other Updates

• Pobal have Information and Resources for the Community and Voluntary Sector on Reopening. If individual organisations have resources they would like to share with the wider group please do send on as we have received a number of request for this

• Many Local Community Development Committees (LCDCs) have uploaded the details of how to apply to the Community Enhancement Scheme  on their website. The scheme provides funding  towards enhancing the facilities available to communities. The Programme has a focus on supporting groups in disadvantaged areas.
