The Mental Health, Mary Butler T.D., has launched a public consultation to inform the development of Ireland’s next suicide reduction policy.  

This Department of Health consultation is a very welcome opportunity for people, groups and organisations to share their experiences, observations and proposals on suicide reduction in Ireland and to express what they would like to see in a new policy, post- Connecting for Life. Noting also that the Department will be actively promoting this survey on national and local print and media, in coming weeks. 

We encourage you, and your networks to engage in this important consultation. It is a very timely opportunity for your opinions to be heard – you can play your part in shaping a new and innovative strategic direction for reducing the number of people who die by suicide in our country.
