Photo: Jacek Snochowski (Fruit Frame) ![]() Artist in the Community Scheme Awards 2025 Deadline: 31 March The Arts Council’s Artist in the Community (AIC) Scheme, managed by Create, offers awards to enable artists and communities of place and/or interest to work together to create exceptional art. Applications are now open for Artist in the Community Scheme Awards 2025. This includes the following awards: Research and Development Award (without mentoring) Research and Development Award (with Mentoring) Recent Graduate Research and Development Award (with Mentoring) Project Realisation Award Information Sessions We know from internal research that in 2024, 63% of proposals deemed ineligible were submitted by artists and communities who did not seek advice from Create before applying. We strongly recommend that applicants attend information sessions and one to one advisory clinics in advance of applying. Commissions Award | Deadline extended: 27 February, 5:30pm The purpose of the Commissions Award is to enable the commissioning of new work from freelance artists. This round of the Commissions Award is available in Music, Opera and Festivals. Dance Artist Residency Scheme | Deadline: 27 February, 5:30pm The objective of the Dance Artist Residency Scheme is to stabilise and support a network of dance artists in residence across the country. The scheme is specifically aimed at dance artists working in collaboration with an arts centre or an organisation or a festival and/or a local authority. Deis Recording and Publication Award | Deadline: 27 February, 5:30pm The purpose of the Deis Recording & Publication Award is to provide support for traditional arts projects, or projects involving collaboration between the traditional arts and other artforms, that focus on the recording or publication of work. Young Ensembles Scheme | Deadline: 27 February, 5:30pm The primary purpose of the Young Ensembles Scheme is to support groups of young people between the ages of ten and twenty-four to create or critically engage with ambitious and original work together in any artform. Creative Ireland Grant Scheme 2025, Offaly County Council Deadline: 21 February, 12 noon Offaly County Council, with financial support from Creative Ireland, seeks to award grants to communities and artists working together. To explore and present aspects of Offaly’s heritage through varying art forms. These grants will range from incubator grants to project delivery grants. Projects may be phased over a number of years, exploring concepts and developing relationships between the artist and community in year one and the building on this in future years. Fingal Artists’ Support Scheme, Fingal County Council Deadline: 21 February, 4pm Fingal County Council is pleased to announce the 2025 edition of the Fingal Artists’ Support Scheme. The scheme is designed to nurture and advance the practice of individual professional artists in Fingal and is open to practitioners at all career stages working in the disciplines of music, visual art, drama, literature, film, and dance. Artists in Residency: Aurora Borealis, Kaninchen-Haus, Italy Deadline: 23 February Aurora Borealis represents a unique international artist residency format in which the relationship between artist and community is central in all phases of the process. The call is open to artists active in any discipline who have a previous exhibition path and previous experience in the field of participatory artistic practices. National Arts in Nursing Homes Day Award, Age & Opportunity’s Bealtaine Festival and Nursing Homes Ireland Deadline: 26 February, 12pm Age & Opportunity’s Bealtaine Festival, in partnership with Nursing Homes Ireland, wish to recognise three outstanding arts projects through the National Arts in Nursing Homes Day Award. Call for Proposals: Earth Rising Festival 2025, IMMA – Irish Museum of Modern Art Deadline: 28 February, 5pm IMMA invite proposals for innovative, community-focused projects that combine artistic creativity and environmental action to inspire hope, dialogue, and transformation for the Earth Rising Festival 2025. The 2025 edition of Earth Rising will align with “Staying With the Trouble”, a ground-breaking exhibition at IMMA inspired by Donna Haraway’s seminal book. Opening in April 2025, the exhibition invites audiences to rethink their relationships with humans, animals, and ecosystems, fostering imaginative new ways of seeing and acting. Creative Communities, Leitrim County Council and Creative Ireland Deadline: 9 March This is a unique opportunity for your group to actively engage in a well resourced and innovative project being led by practitioners with experience of leading high quality collaborative projects. The commitment of everyone along with the knowledge of the group and the expertise of the practitioner are essential to get the maximum benefit from the programme and make a lasting, memorable and enriching project for everyone involved. ![]() Boys in the Making by Fiona Whelan and Rialto Youth Project Exhibition until 14 February, 6pm Venue: NCAD Gallery, 100 Thomas Street, Dublin, D08 K521 The Boys in the Making exhibition at NCAD Gallery offers the public an opportunity to see inside this ongoing programme, to connect with some of the fictional characters and artworks that have been created to date, and the methodology that gave rise to them. The Boys in the Making programme forms part of a long-term project called What Does He Need? Through public art, performance, educational programmes and workshops, What Does He Need? aims to create significant public dialogue about the current state of masculinity. ![]() Artist Pay and Working Conditions Survey, Arts Council of Ireland Deadline: 17 February This survey is issued by the Arts Council. Under the remit of their Paying the Artist policy they are supporting arts organisations to think about the role they play in advancing pay and conditions for artists. This survey is an opportunity for you to share your experience and perspective on pay and working conditions for artists.
