“We need the people of Navan to really get behind us this year and show your solidarity” – Navan Pride announces dates for 2025 festival and parade

Navan Pride will return for its third festival this year, taking place on the earlier dates of June 16 to 21.

There will be several events held around the town, with The Solstice and pubs and venues in the Navanalready on board to host events fundraisers. The parade will take place on Saturday, June 21. 

Navan Pride organiser Patrick Lawlor said: “We are delighted to return for our third year and brighten up our town with an array of colourful, entertaining and informative events. 

“Our Breaking Down Barriers talk will be returning to The Solstice which will also be hosting LGBTQ+-themed films and potentially a gig. 

“There will also be a number of gigs held around the town, with several additional venues hosting events. 

“There will be lots of surprises in store and we look forward to announcing more festival details as the year progresses.

“The main aim of Navan Pride is to celebrate our lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and other members of our community. Everyone has an LGBTQ+ family member, friend and neighbour and they are an important part of our community, but that said, some people still find it very difficult to be their authentic selves for fear of being sneered at, bullied or attacked. Homophobia is sadly alive and well and we want to counter that and any sense of shame being imposed on our LGBTQ+ community with a feeling of pride. 

“Navan Pride 2025 will be a celebration, a protest against bigotry and an awareness-raising event all rolled into one, in which for a third year we’ll be saying ‘here we are, proud of who we are, proud of our LGBTQ+ residents, and we’re not going away’.

“So I would urge everyone in the town and from outside the town to check out our events updates on navanpride.ie and on our socials. I would urge people to attend our events, they’re great fun… and also please walk in and attend our brilliant and vibrant parade. Navan Pride Mission Statement:

Navan Pride 2025 is a week-long festival of events celebrating diversity and emphasising solidarity with our LGBTQ+ family, friends and neighbours in Navan town.

There will be an array of events commencing on the week beginning June 16th, with an event planned for every day of the festival and a parade through the town also planned.

We are a not-for-profit community group that aims to raise awareness of LGBTQ+ issues and visibility of this community. We aim to bring together like-minded people supporting individuals being themselves and freely expressing who they are, without fear or negative comment.
