Outdoor Recreation Infrastructure Scheme (ORIS) 2024/25: Measures 2 & 3 – closing date 24th January 2025
2024/2025 Outdoor Recreation Infrastructure Scheme provides funding for the development of new and existing outdoor recreational infrastructure in rural areas.
The ORIS Scheme will see the development of natural amenities such as Ireland’s mountains, lakes, rivers, beaches, bogs, walkways, greenways and blueways.
Meath County Council is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) for projects under the Measure 2 and Measure 3 headings:
- Measure 2 – Grant amount up to €200,00 for medium scale repair/upgrade and new trail/amenity development
- Measure 3 – Grant amount up to €500,000 for strategic large-scale repair/upgrade and new strategic trail/amenity development projects

As set out in the scheme details, projects with evidence of strong community engagement will be prioritised.
As in previous years, the scheme does not include sporting activities which take place in the countryside on confined courses or pitches specifically designed and constructed for those events e.g., golf, football, show jumping or motorised activities such as quads/scramblers.
