Scurlogstown Family Fun Day: 18th August 2024 1.30pm
Scurlogstown Olympiad (Trim Haymaking Festival), is thrilled to announce a Family Fun Day on the 18th of August. The event will be held in the picturesque Heritage Park, directly opposite Jack Quinn’s Pub, providing a perfect setting for a day of enjoyment and cultural enrichment.
Families can look forward to a visit from a local folklorist, who will share fascinating stories and traditions, bringing the rich history of the area to life. Children and adults alike will delight in a variety of old-fashioned games and a Sean nós dance workshop, offering a nostalgic glimpse into the past and plenty of fun for all ages. We will also have céilí music on the day
In addition to these activities, there will be tea/coffee and some snacks available, ensuring that everyone stays energized and satisfied throughout the day. The event will also feature an informative session on the restoration of the iconic seven arch bridge, a significant historical structure in the community. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about the ongoing efforts to preserve this vital piece of local heritage.
The Family Fun Day promises to be an engaging and memorable event for all who attend. Mark your calendars and join us for a celebration of history, community, and fun on the 18th of August in Heritage Park.
