Research indicates that home based caring is the preferred option for many older people and their families. A recent survey by Active Retirement Ireland found 82% of those surveyed had a clear preference to ageing at home and in their own communities, with just 1% saying they would opt for long-term residential care. Government also indicate a preference for Home Care as it is the most cost effective method. In this webinar we look at the supports, Government policies and initiatives currently in place to enable this. We also assess the need for further resources to turn plans into actions and we ask “what role can communities play in delivering these services?”
