Free Training Workshop on Computing for Children
“Trinity College Dublin and the National Parents Council (Primary) are pleased to invite you to apply to join a free training workshop on Saturday morning 8th December in Dublin.
OurKidsCode ( http://www.ourkidscode.ie/) is a joint project between the School of Computer Science and Statistics, Trinity College Dublin (TCD) and the National Parents Council (Primary) (NPC) funded by Science Foundation Ireland’s (SFI) Discover programme.
The OurKidsCode Workshops aim to support parents/guardians who wish to develop their primary-school children’s interest and activity in computing. This will be done through the provision of family creative coding workshops designed and developed by TCD to build the confidence and competence for families to sustain further meetings. This initial input may be delivered by someone like you or through the NPC’s national training network.
This training workshop will prepare participants to apply the OurKidsCode model with families that they work with. The OurKidsCode team are looking for applicants who are already working with families with primary-aged children and have opportunities to run workshops in a venue and time that such families can attend – they have found after school works well. This may be in the context of a local primary school, a CoderDojo, a community centre or even one family’s home. If anyone would be interested in attending please complete the online application form at the application form ( http://scanmail.trustwave.com/?c=6600&d=tKP026z-088UEuGzk3d9mUgrgScsdGQbVebnXOdN_Q&s=613&u=http%3a%2f%2fgoo%2egl%2fforms%2f2HotlAY0YXPVyYag1 ) by Thursday 29th November?”
